Health Guarantee

To the best of our knowledge, this puppy is in good health and free from any signs of contagious or infectious diseases at the time of sale. If you suspect your puppy is unwell, we recommend seeing a licensed veterinarian right away.
Additionally, we offer a one-year replacement guarantee if any major organ failure occurs due to a genetic or congenital condition.
This warranty also covers certain genetic or congenital bone conditions, including issues with hips and knees. If your puppy is diagnosed with luxating patellas, it must be a grade 3 or higher, confirmed through X-rays performed by a certified orthopedic veterinarian. A notarized veterinary report, stating with medical certainty that the condition is hereditary or prenatal (and not caused by jumping or other external factors), will be required.
If the puppy passes away due to such a condition, a full autopsy must be conducted, and the results must be sent to the seller’s veterinarian for review. All veterinary records and the notarized report must be mailed via registered mail. Once the seller’s veterinarian verifies the diagnosis, the buyer will be provided with a replacement puppy of equal or lesser value, chosen by the seller, from an upcoming litter.

The Replacement Warranty will be void if the puppy is found to have been abused, neglected, or if there is no documentation proving that vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and regular fecal exams have been maintained. At the time of delivery, the puppy has received the necessary vaccinations and deworming, and the buyer has been notified. Furthermore, this warranty will no longer be valid if the puppy is not spayed or neutered by six months of age.
This warranty does not cover illnesses that can be prevented by routine vaccinations. To keep this guarantee valid, the puppy must be seen by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival, and proof of the visit must be provided. The warranty does not cover conditions such as coccidia, giardia, or kennel cough, which are commonly seen in puppies, especially those that are shipped. Although kennel cough is contagious, it is typically mild and self-limiting, similar to a common cold, with full recovery expected.
Additionally, this guarantee does not cover breed-specific traits often found in Shih Tzus, such as cherry eye, stenotic nares, underbites, or inguinal and umbilical hernias, as these are generally considered normal for the breed.
We offer a two-year health warranty that covers any serious, life-changing congenital or genetic conditions that lead to the loss of your puppy. If such a situation arises, we will either provide a replacement puppy of similar value or, at our discretion, issue a full refund of the purchase price.

We guarantee that your puppy will arrive healthy and free from contagious diseases like parvo and distemper. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that your puppy receives the appropriate vaccinations to maintain their protection. Please note that even fully vaccinated dogs, such as a neighbor’s pet, may carry viruses like parvo on their paws from public spaces and unknowingly infect your puppy if its vaccinations are not complete. **We do not replace puppies lost to preventable communicable diseases.
All our puppies are sold with a spay/neuter agreement, which means breeding rights are not included. Umbilical hernias are common in Shih Tzus, affecting up to 50% of the breed, and are typically not a medical issue. In most cases, they resolve on their own by the time of spaying or neutering. If an umbilical hernia remains, it can be corrected during that procedure for an additional cost. We offer a $50 discount on puppies with an umbilical hernia for this reason.
More details about our health guarantee and warranty can be found in the official contract, which is signed by both the breeder and the buyer at the time of sale.
